Offside

Offside is a rule that prohibits a player from being too far forward. There are different offside rules for each major code. To play offside, a player must be behind the kicker and at least five metres behind the opposing team's goal line. If a player is caught offside, but not behind the player holding it, they will be penalised.

Line-outs

Line-outs are contested throw ins between two lines of rugby league players. The line-out's purpose is to bring the ball to touch and to then restart play. Support must be provided for the players at the line-out so they can reach high enough to catch the ball.

Some exceptions exist to these rules, like when a kick is delivered directly into touch. If the kick goes directly into touch, the ball cannot bounce off the line. If it does, the ball must stay within a 22m radius on the other side.

Kick-offs

The kickoff is the first stage of a Rugby League game. The team in possession of the ball will try to move it along the pitch, either by passing it backwards and/or by kicking it. The kicker will direct the ball to the goalkeeper. All players should be lined up behind him. Once the ball is in possession, players are able to chase after it but must be in the correct position for the kick-off.

Touch-in–goal is a term for the area on which a player/ball must touch to make the play 'out. This area does not include the goal-posts and the padding that is on the ground level. This means that a try cannot take place at the goal-posts' feet.

A touch-in–goal is when a ball or player crosses the touchline of the opposition's area. The point where the ball crosses that touch-in–goal line is called the point of entrance. A forward pass or charge-down kick to touch in the in goal area is not considered a knock-on.

How do I get started with Base Jumping?

Base jumping (also called free-fall Parachuting) allows participants to jump from fixed objects (usually cliffs), including bridges, towers and buildings, with no equipment attached.
